Emperor appoints Dr. A.R.O. Abdel Rahman as Director

Calgary, AB., March 6, 2013 – The Board of Directors of Emperor Oil Ltd. (TSX.V: EM) (“Emperor” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. A.R.O Abdel Rahman to its Board with immediate effect.

Dr. Rahman has over 30 years’ experience in the oil sector and has particularly extensive knowledge of Sudan’s energy sector, one of Emperor’s key areas of focus:

• 1981-1989 Head of Engineering at for ADNOC’s Ruwais Refinery in Abu-Dhabi;
• 1989-1994 Head of General Petroleum Corporation, Khartoum, Sudan which was fundamental in the emergence of the oil industry in Sudan;
• He has worked as a special consultant with several national and international companies in the oil sector.
• Chairman of the Consortium (representing the government) for oil production from Blocks 1, 2 and 4; head of the Government project team; Head of the Joint Co-ordination Committee for the upstream; and head of the Joint Management Committee for the COPA (the pipeline and Marine terminal).
• Member of the Board of Directors of Sudapet to 2010.
• Member of the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Petroleum Engineering at the Sudan University of Science and Technology.
• Member of the Advisory Board for the Minister of Petroleum of Sudan.
• Graduate of the University of Khartoum (Mech. Engineering), Ph.D University of Birmingham, UK.
